OCTOPUS
In Croatia, there are numerous tattoo studios where piercing is a secondary service, often of mediocre or poor quality, with limited jewelry options, and piercers who have learned their craft from YouTube videos. Professional piercing studios are rare because there are few where the love for this profession outweighs all the complications that come with it. Unlike tattoos, which typically heal without major issues within about ten days, piercing is a multi-year commitment for both the client and the piercer. Some positions can take up to two years to fully heal, and because the jewelry is a foreign object in the body, complications can occur even after the healing period is over. Depending on your skin type, you might end up visiting your piercer more frequently than your hairdresser.
Octopus was established on July 11, 2011, and initially, it was a ‘pure piercing studio.’ Tattooing was introduced in 2015, but the primary focus has always been our greatest love – piercing. In the first ten years of its existence, the studio changed locations three times due to business expansion. Since the beginning of 2021, we have been located at Prilaz Gjure Dezelica 23/1, offering piercing and tattooing services while also adding laser tattoo removal.
The work of a professional piercer or tattoo artist with years of experience is neither simple nor dangerous, despite common social prejudices. Quality work in any field is the result of years of learning, improvement, practice, care, and often the loss of one’s nerves. Learning is never truly finished. A professionally done piercing or tattoo can only become dangerous after the client leaves the studio and causes problems themselves, or problems can arise due to accidental negligence by a third party.
Octopus’s goal is to provide quality service to its clients while offering all the relevant information about the service. We constantly strive to introduce improvements, not only in the equipment we use but also in our knowledge.
For all of us at Octopus, this is not just a job. We don’t come home to remove our work uniform (peel off our tattoos and take off our piercings) and forget about our work like most people. What we do is simultaneously our life, hobby, love, happiness, and Octopus is our little family ❤️
