IMPORTANT INFORMATION
HEALTH CONDITION
To facilitate the healing process for your body, it’s important to pay attention to your immunity because your overall health plays a significant role in the recovery of your skin after laser tattoo removal. If you have a weak immune system, poor nutrition, lack of sleep, constant exposure to stress, hormone issues, skin conditions, and so on, all these factors can affect the healing period, potentially prolonging and/or complicating it.
Keep in mind that the laser creates a superficial wound on the skin, and it takes a certain amount of time for epithelialization (the growth of new skin over the burn) to occur. In the first few weeks, this young skin is exceptionally thin and sensitive and requires specific care.
Before the treatment, please inform us if you have any of the following health conditions on the day of your appointment:
diabetes
epilepsy
hemophilia
severe cough
skin conditions
heart problems
flu-like symptoms
breathing difficulties
elevated temperature
blood pressure issues
pregnancy and/or breastfeeding
fainting when getting blood drawn
bloodborne diseases (HIV, hepatitis…)
In some cases, the mentioned health conditions are not problematic, for example, if you have a runny nose due to allergies or low blood pressure. In such cases, we recommend taking an immune-boosting supplement and having a normal meal before the treatment to raise your blood sugar levels.
Some conditions may require prior consultations with a general practitioner or other medical professionals (e.g., a dermatologist in the case of specific skin conditions). If you have diabetes, epilepsy, heart or blood pressure problems, bloodborne diseases, or any skin issues (seborrhea, psoriasis), please consult with a medical professional regarding the impact of the treatment on your health before scheduling a tattoo removal appointment.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women cannot use this service (with no exceptions). During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the body undergoes numerous changes. Although the chances of the laser causing specific health issues are very low, the medical practice in Croatia is such that the slightest negative change will be attributed to it. “You got a rash on your neck? It’s because of the leg tattoo.” Jokes aside, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the health of the mother and child takes precedence. The tattoo studio won’t go anywhere, and you can endure a few more months with the existing tattoo until breastfeeding stops.
In case the client fails to disclose their health condition to Octopus staff before the tattoo removal procedure for any reason,
Octopus studio is not responsible for any potential health complications or difficulties in the healing of the treated area.

CONSUMPTION
Food
Please have a regular meal no later than 2 hours before your appointment, especially if you have low blood pressure or are very nervous. Coming on an empty stomach, or not having anything in your system except coffee and cigarettes due to nervousness, can lead to nausea during or after the treatment. If you have issues with fainting during blood draws, please mention it at the beginning of the appointment. Our staff is always ready to assist, but it would be more comfortable for everyone if it doesn’t come to that.
Medications
If you have taken any medication that dilates the circulatory system (e.g., aspirin or blood-thinning drugs) in the 24 hours before your appointment, please inform our staff before the treatment. An expanded circulatory system can lead to more significant bleeding during tattoo removal. If you are taking specific regular therapy (e.g., medication for diabetes or epilepsy), please consult your general practitioner before scheduling the appointment.
Alcohol and narcotics
In case you have consumed substantial amounts of alcohol and/or any narcotics (drugs) in the 24 hours before your appointment, please inform our staff. Alcohol and drugs expand the circulatory system, potentially causing more significant swelling and bleeding during or after the treatment. This can also affect tissue healing. Both alcohol and drugs increase sensitivity to pain, making the treatment more painful than usual.
Octopus tattoo studio reserves the right to refuse service to a person suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
INDIVIDUAL FACTORS
The healing of the skin after laser tattoo removal may be influenced by specific individual factors such as:
- Skin Type: We are not all the same, and skin healing may be significantly slower in some people for no apparent reason.
- Location: Skin on certain parts of the body heals more slowly due to their flexibility and constant movement (folds of arms and legs). On these body areas, the skin is thin and sensitive, and blisters may develop on the skin’s surface. Skin on palms, soles, and the back of the hand regenerates significantly faster than on other parts of the body. That’s why the tattoo fades faster in those areas.
- Activities: If you plan a vacation by the sea, skiing, going to a festival, or engaging in similar activities, keep in mind that it may affect your ability to care for the treated skin or the tattoo removal appointment itself. If the skin gets sunburned in the area where we are removing the tattoo, you will have to wait for the inflammation to subside.
- Cosmetics: The composition of cosmetic products used in the vicinity of a fresh wound can affect the healing process and irritate the wound. For skin care after laser tattoo removal, use only recommended products. At least 10 days before the appointment, do not apply products containing glitter or self-tanning creams to the skin to prevent this cosmetics from ending up in the wound (as it is practically impossible to clean them from the skin).
In the case of any problems with healing (blistering, bruising, inflammation, severe redness, pimples, significant swelling or bleeding, pus discharge, etc.), please contact Octopus for examination as soon as possible. If you cannot come in person, you can send us photos of the treated area to help us assess the situation. The photos should be clear, close-up shots, and you can send them to the email info.octopustattoo@gmail.com
